Wasn’t it nice when people weren’t rushing to the store and pushing one another to get to the last shirt in their size? On the one day of the year where were supposed to be thankful for what we have, people are shopping. Now that stores are opening on thanksgiving nobody gets a chance to spend quality time with their families and reunite with one another. Rather people eat dinner with their families, chit chat a little and rush to their favorite store to get an item that’s $3 cheaper than it usually is. I’d say it’s a ridiculous idea to open stores on thanksgiving evening but don’t let the obsessive shoppers hear that.
Opening stores on thanksgiving is not only affecting shoppers quality time with their families but it’s also affecting the employees. It’s funny to think people are posting status’s on Facebook explaining how thankful they are for who and what they have in their lives. Yet, later that night they’re fighting someone for a 24’’ tv. In a few years, you can thank the stores for opening earlier and earlier on Thanksgiving night and putting an end to that holiday.
